侯友宜市長於新北市政府3月20日因應嚴重特殊傳染性肺炎疫情第26次應變會議中，要求新北市所有53家醫院ㄧ般病房、142家護理之家自3月20日起全面禁止探病、陪病者限1人；加護病房則需訂定探病時段，且每次至多2人探病；侯友宜同時要求新北住宿型安養、養護及長照機構共214家，以視訊探視為原則，如有特殊狀況需當面探視，則需於非照顧區之獨立且通風良好會客處，且探視時間限制在30分鐘內，減少長者感染。三種場所都要加強門禁管理，做好防疫措施，以降低感染風險。
