喝1瓶＝抽10根菸的說法有些誇張，但WCRF 在 2007 年出版的報告中指出，『酒精性飲料為停經前乳癌及停經後乳癌的原因，這一證據是確定的』。而風險增加的幅度是 6∼10％ ，雖然不是很高，但酒精毫無疑問地，確實會提高乳癌的罹患風險。
