指揮中心表示，COVID-19自費檢驗費用，依醫療法第21條規定：「醫療機構收取醫療費用之標準，由直轄市、縣(市)主管機關核定之」，其中非屬健保給付項目，直轄市、縣市主管機關應衡酌醫用者意見，參考醫院提供之醫療設施水準、成本分析與市場行情等資料，依審查程序據以核定。目前全國84家自費檢驗指定醫院，檢驗費用約5,000到7,000元；另有37家提供快速檢驗服務，民眾可於當日就醫採檢及取得報告，快速檢驗費用以7,000元居多數。
