不建議傷害發病的當事人隱私或公布工作場所，如果大部分的人被這樣的社會氣氛影響而隱匿行蹤，不據實以告，反而害人害己，對防疫工作也造成很大傷。中央流行疫情指揮中心執行官周志浩表示，傳染病防治法規定對於感染者和疑似感染者必須予以保護，若公布病患隱私可依法裁罰新台幣一至十五萬，裁罰程度視個案認定。
