有些業者會利用誇張不實的廣告作為噱頭、進行詐騙，不肖業者（或詐騙集團）利用民眾資金的急迫需求，謊稱可以提供借款人超低利率、超高額度，甚至不需提供擔保品，抵押物間就可以貸款。接著，他們就會在借款人上鉤後，要求繳納保證金或利息，收到款項後便會迅速捲款潛逃，錢也難以追回。
