台灣高鐵公司目前完成2020年高鐵沿線地層下陷監測成果報告，並提報鐵道局，4處路段中，只有彰化下陷減緩，雲林有3處下陷量增幅成長，但仍在安全範圍內。

為防治地層下陷對高鐵結構設施的影響，台灣高鐵公司自2003年起，委託工業技術研究院定期辦理沿線地層下陷監測作業，同時針對軌道平整度進行檢測。鐵道局則監督台灣高鐵監測高鐵橋墩下陷情形，適時調整軌道墊片、橋梁支承及必要結構補強，確保高鐵結構及營運安全。
