葉宜津提議的羅馬拼音目前還不明朗，但過去教育部頒布之國語注音符號第二式，就能以現今通行之四聲調號表示四聲。如yōu（ㄧㄡ）、yóu（ㄧㄡˊ）、yǒu（ㄧㄡˇ）、yòu（ㄧㄡˋ），因此羅馬字拼寫《施氏食獅史》也是沒有問題的。
