美國國土安全局（TSA）指出，若以現金購買當天機票、來自高風險國家的人、只持有單程機票、曾有辦妥登機手續後卻不上機紀錄、沒帶齊所有證件或沒有身分證、曾被海關查出攜帶違禁品或物品未報關稅者等上述情況的人，機票上都有可能被註記「SSSS」，需接受第二次安檢。
