漂白水與酒精是有效果的。有套膜病毒包括B型肝炎病毒、C型肝炎病毒、流感病毒和冠狀病毒等。有外套膜的病毒比較脆弱，酒精性乾洗手可以破壞外套膜而殺死病毒；但無套膜的病毒對環境抵抗力較強，要用肥皂洗手或漂白水擦拭才行。建議民眾到公共場所後，一定要洗手才能觸碰臉和口鼻，探病前後也要洗手，以避免感染。
