酒精的最小點火能量只有0.63毫焦，人體的靜電放電、電火花都能引燃。酒精是乙醇，其閃點為12.78℃，屬於甲類危險品，易燃易爆。酒精易揮發，容易在空氣中形成可燃蒸汽，遇火源可以發生爆炸。乙醇的爆炸極限為3.3%~18%，也就是說，如果100升空氣中有3.3升乙醇蒸汽，就會發生爆炸。
