心肺復甦術（CPR）的目的是維持循環與呼吸功能，讓患者在到達醫院前不致腦部缺氧。魏崢醫師也呼籲「要強調的是，在還沒有得到大家的普遍認同以前，我建議的趴俯式 CPR 是讓不會做標準 CPR 的外行人用在醫院以外的場合的」。衛福部醫事司為該領域最高主管機關，醫事司官網目前也是以仰躺式 CPR 為官版教材。
