假的，熱水澡是沒有用的。世界衛生組織(WHO)公共衛生緊急計畫執行主任萊恩(Michael Ryan)5月8日在世衛的疫情記者會上說明，不管是升高還是降低體溫，「對病毒沒影響」。他說，病毒和疾病時常引起發燒，只要小心監測，發燒本身不盡然是壞事，「但是體溫能影響病毒在人體內活動力的觀念，是不正確的」。
