美國《時代》雜誌的官網有把每一期的雜誌封面都列出來，其實在2020年5月間就開始出現在社群網站Twitter和Pinterest，不過轉發分享這張圖片的外國網友們，多半是單純轉發圖片而已，沒有多作解釋，更沒有提到「據說這是美國《時代》雜誌有史以來最好的封面」等謠言內容。這其實只是在中國內容農場流傳的假圖片。
