台中市動物保護防疫處2020年1月12日接獲通報，大安區一土雞場疑似發生禽流感案例，隨即派員採樣送驗，並進行動物移動管制，檢驗報告出爐，確診為禽流感，今日動員動保處、環保局、警察局、衛生局、區公所等跨局處約40人，前往撲殺土雞、銷毀飼料，雞隻屍體全部密封送化製廠處理，不會流出市面。
