在沒有鞋子穿的貧窮地區，「沙蚤」寄生於人腳，讓雙腳紅腫潰爛，嚴重甚至會致命，這就是「沙蚤病」。雖然醫治方式很簡單，只要將腳中的沙蚤一隻隻挖出來或是泡專用藥水，但只要腳底再接觸土地，就會再次感染。他們需要的只是一雙合腳的鞋子。
