《科學期刊》中,由美國康乃爾醫學院研究發現,如可樂、汽水等添加工食品的甜味劑高果糖玉米糖漿(HFCS),在動物實驗中有增加大腸癌發展的現象,提醒若為大腸息肉高風險族群,建議不喝含糖飲料,若已經罹患大腸癌,攝取高果糖玉米糖漿等於在養癌細胞。
