倫敦政經學院在官網聲明指出，校方收到許多詢問台灣總統蔡英文學位的關切，根據倫敦政經學院和倫敦大學的紀錄，確認蔡總統在1984年被授予法律博士學位無誤，在當時所有的學位都由倫敦大學授予，並且將論文繳交到Senate House Library，該圖書館的紀錄顯示，已收到蔡總統論文，並將其發送給高等法律研究所（IALS）。
