省電燈泡和一般傳統燈泡確實含有汞，但裡面的汞是「元素汞」，和一般引起中毒的是「有機汞」不同。元素汞主要是藉由空氣散發引起吸入性中毒，並不會經由接觸進入人體而引起中毒。
