因小米智能攝影機需與伺服器一直連，故會有封包上傳，且小米 app 需透過小米伺服器才能運作，建議重要的地方不要放小米監視器比較安全。這些被觸發的影像被上傳到雲端保存，可以讓使用者事後搜尋觀看，而這本來就是這類攝影機的功能，將攝影機地區改選台灣後，可見對外連線 IP 會上傳封包至新加坡及香港。
