歹徒會先刊登分類廣告，謊稱要徵才，徵求家庭手工就是其中常見的方式，求職者依照廣告打電話詢問時，歹徒假稱可先給一筆錢，讓求職者買材料，接著要求到自動櫃員機前操作，錢才會「匯入」，實際上卻是把求職者存款轉走。因此，任何有要求到自動櫃員機前操作的手法，極可能就是詐騙陷阱，民眾可先撥165反詐騙電話查詢，千萬不可貿然聽從操作。
