根據《ETtoday新聞雲》報導，彭、林舉行的記者會，英國大報如《BBC》、《衛報》均有受邀，但在事前了解狀況後，認為此為跨國抹黑，因此並未前往；還有當地台灣學生指出，記者會出席者包括彭文正與林環牆約7人，台下5人有2位是彭的助理，另外2位帶著中國腔的人士，以及一名台灣記者。
