肺部若感染到病毒而發炎，通常會先出現咳嗽、發燒、多痰等症狀，嚴重時還會導致呼吸困難，肺部換氣功能大幅下降，不可能毫無症狀就突然纖維化，至少會經過3到4週的慢性歷程。至於判別肺部是否纖維化，民眾還是到醫院做肺功能檢查才能確認，閉氣10秒便可得知根本是無稽之談。
