防檢局副局長施泰華表示，防檢局委託台北市野鳥學會執行候鳥、野鳥的禽流感主動監測，2月2日在監測過程中，於花蓮玉里田間小路拾獲1隻已經死亡的幼鵝，後續將檢體送家畜衛生試驗所檢測，確診為H5N6禽流感。防檢局提醒民眾避免接觸野鳥，如發現死亡禽鳥，請主動通報防疫機關處理。
