根據國科會所發表的一項研究發現,腦幹中一氧化氮增加能有效控制交感神經過度活化,使血壓下降;且經動物實驗發現,腦中自由基增加或攝取過多高熱量食物,都會使腦幹中一氧化氮減少,造成高血壓! 若用藥物降低自由基產生,或減少高熱量食物攝取,可使一氧化氮含量恢復正常,血壓跟著調降。
